We have lousy Presidential candidates.
They are all bad
No one to pick from.
Recession/inflation
Oil/gasoline sky high
Food is expensive
Health care is expensive
Cooling in the summer/heating in the winter will cost
people loosing jobs
people loosing homes/Foreclosures
Credit crisis
Hannah Montana??!! (What were you guys thinking?!)
people loosing money
No cost of living raises in sight
Inflation is at 7-11% not 4% (Government likes to leave out little things like food and fuel)
Obama really DOES agree with his beloved pastor
Clinton is a crazy lady (She will get the nomination. It is destiny)
McCain is Mc-old and loves Mc-War...
Where is my hero-President Richard Nixon (I know he passed-- I was/am a true fan)
Good ole "Tricky Dick"?
I think Pres. Jimmy Carter should run again.
Carter and Gore!
Wait I know! I know!....
GLENN BECK AND GEORGE NOORY!
ART BELL AND RON PAUL!
KEITH OLBERMANN AND bILL o'rIELLy!
We are in a lot of trouble folks.
I hope Jesus just gets it over with quickly.
Peak oil is here, Really.

HOSPITALS-HOME SCHOOL AND HOME
I do not get a moments peace anymore, much less the computer!
I have wanted to write and I have been sooo busy and stuff keeps happening and school and work! It is just too much sometimes.
My mom went in for surgery last week---that seemed to go very well.
My big sister was on her way to see mom and help her get ready to go to the hospital that morning...when she got hit by another car, driven by a high school boy. He pulled out in front of her. Her car is totaled.
Seeing he was ticketed and she did not want him in anymore trouble, she declined going to the hospital. So, she went to the doctors office later that day--a friend took her. You know how there is an out side door, then an inside door? The inside door was glass and the poor thing walked right through it!! She is really hurt now.
I have also had work and school and testes and papers and online forums we must participate in. I am not having any fun.
Last week we took the kids to the park for home school play day. It was fun. then Wednesday some of us homeschoolers got together with the kids and took a tour of "Millikin Homestead". It is the mansion the Millikins build in the 1800's. They then had the Millikin bank and Millikin University as well. We had a good time and the weather was perfect for it.
Now it is cold and rainy. Where did spring go?
How about those gas prices?
Food prices?
I give up....almost.

POLYGAMIST KIDS CULTURE SHOCK
Texas tries to ease polygamist kids' culture shock
Story Highlights
FLDS way of life differs in many ways from outside world
Texas officials say children will keep modest clothes, similar diet
Youngsters are moving to homes in various Texas locations
State trying to keep them from culture shock of other children for now
"SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) -- Many of the children have seen little or no television. They have been essentially home-schooled all their lives. Most were raised on garden-grown vegetables and twice-daily prayers with family. They frolic in long dresses and buttoned-up shirts from another century. They are unfailingly polite....."
Okay, now this bothers me. I know a lot of kids who are raised with out a TV. I know alot of girls who have been raised to wear dress or skits and to not cut their hair. Why are they trying to say that those are bad attributes?
I agree that poligamy and marrying off thirteen year old girls is a bad thing. I do not like any part of what they have been doing. It is just that, a lot of Christian parents try to hold a high "Standard" for themselves and their children. Some do not let their boys wear shorts or short sleeves. My kids have never been to an amuzement park or a movie theater. So what? Many of us Home school...Christian or not. Are we all backward and harming our kids?
These are not the things they should be emphisizing. Gee the above comments sound very commendable. It is just all that other stuff that is yucky.

I AM NOT AN ALRAMIST REALLY...JUST PRACTICLE
In this post "Rambo Shopping" , I predicted that many would be going back to cooking from scratch due to high food prices. I still feel that way and I believe we are seeing the evidence of it. It is amazing how high priced everything has become from a year ago, six months ago and even a week ago. Now we have rumors of shortages on the east and west coasts of rice and grains. How strange is that? The high gasoline and diesel prices are playing a major role in this as well as ethanol.
Sistersunshine has a really good blog on eating healthy on the cheep and great recipes with instructions. Also, she has pictures....I need pictures! Do any of you know of any good cooking blogs or money saving blogs that you like? We need to learn to cook enmass...i.e. large quantities; to save back. It is cheaper to cook a large amount of something and freeze or can the rest, than to cook small one time meals and throw out the extras. I really need to get going with it. Things are extremely expensive here....gas and food.
I am afraid summer will be vary bad for some folks. I think the rising gas prices will not only make food more expensive--due to shipping costs---buy also make some foods increasingly unavailable.
Also, I know a lot of people have not realized the importance but our friend the "honey bee" along with other pollinators are continuing to decrease in population. When I first brought it up, some seemed to think it was silly, but it is really going to effect things--especially our ability to get fruits and nuts. It amazes me that people do not know how the industry works. People have huge businesses where they raise the bees and truck them to farm areas to pollinate crops for farmers. Many of these bee keepers are experiencing a staggering decline in their colonies.
Energy and the high price of health care are also on the hearts and minds of many people. Things will rapidly change this summer---I think. If you are counting on the "wallstreet" guy or the Federal banks to help, you are out of luck. I can just hear that giant sucking sound! It is all the money you have going to pay the next bill.
ADVICE: Plant a garden! Plan for power outages. Plan what you will do and have supplies and at least an extra months worth of medication on hand.
I am interested in learning to can food at home--Do you know of any good sites for that?

FOOD RATIONING?? SURELY NOT!
Food Rationing Confronts Breadbasket of the World
By JOSH GERSTEINStaff Reporter of the SunApril 21, 2008
"Many parts of America, long considered the breadbasket of the world, are now confronting a once unthinkable phenomenon: food rationing. Major retailers in New York, in areas of New England, and on the West Coast are limiting purchases of flour, rice, and cooking oil as demand outstrips supply. There are also anecdotal reports that some consumers are hoarding grain stocks.
At a Costco Warehouse in Mountain View, Calif., yesterday, shoppers grew frustrated and occasionally uttered expletives as they searched in vain for the large sacks of rice they usually buy.
"Where's the rice?" an engineer from Palo Alto, Calif., Yajun Liu, said. "You should be able to buy something like rice. This is ridiculous."
The bustling store in the heart of Silicon Valley usually sells four or five varieties of rice to a clientele largely of Asian immigrants, but only about half a pallet of Indian-grown Basmati rice was left in stock. A 20-pound bag was selling for $15.99.
"You can't eat this every day. It's too heavy," a health care executive from Palo Alto, Sharad Patel, grumbled as his son loaded two sacks of the Basmati into a shopping cart. "We only need one bag but I'm getting two in case a neighbor or a friend needs it," the elder man said."
Now this would be BAD! ARE THINGS REALLY GETTING THIS BAD?
Sure prices are getting high...but not this.

IRVIN BAXTER TO BE ON "COAST TO COAST"!
Mon 04.21 >>Irvin Baxter -Biblical Prophecy- endtime.com
To all you United Pentecostal Church people...
And anyone interested...
My most favored expert on Biblical prophecy will be on (Get this Sistersunshine!!!)....
COAST TO COAST!!!!!
April 21 (Me and the Hubbys anniversary).
This is a late night radio talk show. I do not know who will be the interviewer but I am guessing either Art Bell or George Noory! My hubby loves Irvin Baxter! He is excellent!!
I am a bit surprised at all of the UPCI people that listen to this radio show. The show deals with the paranormal, UFOs and metaphysical. It is entertaining though. Pentecostals are very Conservative and the women must look very much as you see the Texas LDS ladys look---except they do not wear "prairie dresses". However they do look very similar--uncut hair, no make up or jewelry-only dresses or skirts.
ANYWAY...
I will not want to miss that show. He is awesome. Good for COAST TO COAST!!!!!

5.4 EARTHQUAKE!!!!!

So there I was at work.
I was sitting at my lobby desk.
It was an ordinary night.
I had just finished round-6.
Then....
I heard something...I felt something.
A passing truck?
Then...
A BIG SHAKING AND RUMBLING, LASTING SEVERAL SECONDS.
I do not have any earthquake protocal.
I called dispatch and got confirmation.
I found maintenance and called the safety director.
Maintenance and I went on a walk through of the building.
Everything was fine.
Boy! That was frightening.
I know some of you get them often...
We do not.
I am so glad to be home now.
I hope we do not get any aftershocks.

BASIC ECONOMICS
As most of you who read my site know, I tend to go from "stuff to stuff" on this blog. I have no real MAIN topic. My family, autism, home school, college and work seem to be discussed most often. Now just a small bit of advice...I am not claiming to be an expert at anything, just a suggestion....Educate yourself a little bit on how the stock markets work and what the numbers really mean.
We have not got the money to invest and we do not. However, along time ago we figured we had better learn the basics so we would at least be able to know what MAY be coming down the road. I am so glad we have---Hubby mainly, he must interpret for me.
There are many good sites for this but I like this one best:
MARKET ORACLE ALSO MISH'S GLOBAL ECONOMIC TREND ANALYISIS
I feel with the economy the way it is and with the cost of every thing going up, it is wise to at least know where things may be headed--then you can prepare. Main stream news always has an agenda. They know what is going on and you need to know too.
That is why we "down sized" our life so much and have no debt---other than the small house payment. No credit cards! Save money. I am not looking for improvement anytime soon. I want to come out ahead in the long run. I know people who are in trouble because they found "Wealth through debt accumulation"! They never realized what that meant and thought we were stupid for not participating in the credit free-for-all. They lived like millionaires. They never asked what something cost---only what the payments were. They had no idea the amount of money they actually owed. Now the debts are due!
If you can read and do basic math then you can learn at least the basics of economics.
Just educate yourself a little. You do not need a college degree to understand it. Do not trust the mainstream media to tell you. Find out for your self.

WHAT DAY IS IT? SHEESH!
My mind got "foggy" this afternoon and I wondered off to bed sometime. I do not remember when. I always TRY to stay up on my first "day off" but it never works. I had been awake 20 hours with out sleep at that point. I know one of my favorite news shows was coming on "Chris Matthews". That is the last thing I remember.
I had woke up Sunday night at 7:30 pm. Got ready for work. Worked all night, until 7AM Monday, then tried to stay up to be with the family but it is just so hard! I always end up being a walking zombie and going off to bed. I awakened with a splitting headache on the top of my head at 2AM. I came in the living room and took an Excedrin, drank some coffee and feel better. It is just so hard to adjust to days off when you work nights. It screws me all up. Now I am up and everyone is in bed!
Junior goes to speech therapy tomorrow and I have class tomorrow night......WAIT A MINUTE, THAT IS TODAY....TUESDAY! Gee I get confused. I got my syllabus for my next class. It is jam packed with homework and reading and papers and discussions. I am over whelmed and it has not even started yet. As always, I do not know how I will get it done. A nightmare.

HERE I AM AGAIN WITH NOTHING TO SAY...
I have not wrote anything for a week I think. I normally do not take such long breaks from writing. I have been so busy with work, school and the kids. Yesterday the toilets and the sinks started backing up and quit flushing.
I called one of my sisters for the name of a plumber. She said it sounded like sewer. Well it had to be taken care of right NOW!!! I had to have a toilet! As you know, we live in a trailer park, so I called the manager to see what they thought. He said "No problem!" They had the sewer people right out. They removed the roots from the sewer lines and the trailer park paid for it. I was so happy. I just knew it was going to cost us 200 dollars. It would have too, but they paid it. I am so happy. It was such a relief!
The hubby is cooking a 14 pound turkey this afternoon. I am not as sure what we will do with all of it. Junior keeps wanting to go outside and it is too cold. It just feels hot in the house because the oven is on. Chaos abounds with Junior yelling to go out, Noddy running around here and there and the smoke alarm going off.
I need a shower. I want the hubby to down load my picture of the kids I took the other day. I still can not do that myself. I am so glad I have the next two nights off. Junior has all ready beat me at "Candy Land" once this morning and now wants sun glasses? I need to hide. The house is a mess. I just do not feel like cleaning after I have been at work all night. I got my home work finished this morning for school tomorrow. Hubby thinks he is going to grow a beard!!! NO! I will not permit it! I told him he looks like a bum. He needs to shave. Niles said he wanted him to so he could see what it would look like.
Junior: "What the hell"
All in unison: "HEY"!@!
Sometimes things are just...well...that way.
They all need haircuts. I need a shower!

RESTED ME
It is 2AM and I am riddles with a headache.
I came home from work around 7:30 this morning (Monday), to begin my 2 nights off. It was to be a lovely day today, and I did not want to miss it. I had missed the last two days sleeping so I could get up for work.
So, I made my self stay up. I took the kids outside for a few hours. Then the hubby went out with them. It was 66 degrees. I actually got some sunshine and air. It is not an easy thing to work nights. I got some real cute picture of the kids. They have enjoyed this sunshine and warm weather so much. It is suppose to be raining for the next week, so I think they should be somewhat prepared to stay inside for a few days.
They have made some new friends over the last three days! We were outside Friday and a little girl came over. I asked her about school and she said they(her and her brother, who is also autistic and Juniors age) are now being HOME SCHOOLED. I am thrilled. They have came over and played with the kids for the last three days! You would not believe all the fun and running around outside and the squealing! It is wonderful!!!!
I do not recall when it was I wondered off to bed, 5:30 I think. Junior came and laid down with me , as always. I awoke with a Splitting headache. So I have made some coffee and decided to see what was up on the Internet.
I have to get Junior to speech therapy at 11AM today and I have school tonight. We have had to read the first 3 chapters of the "National Response Framework Manual" from HOMELAND SECURITY and "Against Desperate Peril: The High Performance, In Emergency Preparedness and Response" manual. I think the hardest part of it is learning the "Alphabet soup" that goes along with it.
I have been rather grumpy from time to time today. That happens after I have been awake 20 hours. My head is not clear. Now that it is night time and I have slept a few hours, I feel much better. The combination of coffee and Excedrin is starting to work on relieving that headache. Maybe I can go back to my nicer "other self".

SUMMER FASHION 2008
Walmart has the worst clothes in the world to choose from .....come to think of it, everybody else does too. Have any of you noticed the ATROCIOUS, not to mention, UGLY prints! Those sun-dresses are nothing short of awful! AWFUL I TELL YOU! All a person needs to complete the ugly lady look is a set of those horrendous, pink, foam hair rollers! Here are a few additional "must have" fashions.

This is just the tip of the ice burg!!!!!
For heaven sake they are nothing short of UGLY! They will sell them to demoralize unsuspecting females everywhere! It must be stopped NOW!
Are women this susceptible to marketing propaganda from the so called fashion industry!?
The MAXI DRESS is being called a must have item this summer! Whoopy!
The prints and colors on all this stuff, is horrible! What is wrong with people?
This stuff is ugly!
It is like reliving the nightmare over and over again of those UGLY polyester pant suites our mothers wore in the 1970's! Remember those ugly, forsaken things! Those horrible prints on the tops! The stains that would not come out of the polyester fabric---Oh the horror of it all!
I can not find any descent clothes for spring and summer!
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOTE: The trend back to the "Charlies Angels" style, high waisted pants is welcome.

WILL JENNY McCARTHY COME TO MY HOUSE TODAY!?
Can't you just see Jenny McCarthy coming to our house?
I wonder if she would wear a she wears a lab coat! Or glasses maybe.
Do you think she would be okay with sandwiches and juice? Maybe not.
I know that she will know what to do.
She can go to the grocery store with us, that would be great!
I bet she will know how to handle Juniors melt downs.
Gee Whiz...I bet she can get him "Potty Trained"!
She could get my Junior on her miraculous diet! WOW.
Do you think she would pay for it? Probably not.
Do you think she will come out with a "cook book of cures"?
Do you think it will be FREE? Maybe not!
After all, a lot of us are...for lack of a better word, POOR!
I know that would not bother her.
She will "fit the bill", because she has a "cure".
She would never want to PROFIT from such a thing.
Oh! you think the needles will hurt Junior?
Do you think he will eat all the wonderful food she prescribes?
Do you think any of the STUFF she says to give him will hurt him?
Not if I do what "Research scientist DR.Jenny" says.
One thing is for certain...
She THINKS she has found a "CURE" for something.
She should be rich and famous...in the medical history books and stuff.
Do you think she day-dreams about that?
Jenny, I will be waiting for you to start giving away FREE cures to all of us POOR people.
Do you take a medical card? Yes...No?
I am sure you know all about this stuff.
What college did you gradiate from again?
Where did you do your research?
If she has the "CURE?" she will give it away.
She would never want to SELL it...that would not be ETHICAL.
Gosh...maybe I should get cleaned up in case she comes over today.
If she comes to your house...Let us know.
Anybody seen "Flat Stanley"?
I heard he cured the COLD.
